Obama Won States He Was Supposed To Lose Last Night

Obama not only held all his firewalls, particularly Georgia and Illinois, but he took a few he wasn't supposed to take.  To name but a few:

Obama won Minnesota -- where polling had Clinton by seven.
Obama won Connecticut -- a Clinton almost-firewall.
Obama won Utah -- White People Central.
Obama won North Dakota -- Even MORE White People Central.

And it looks like Obama won New Mexico and Missouri, too. (And Missouri has a higher percentage of Hispanics than California.)

The race isn't over -- it's just beginning.

What polls did he underperform again?

What would LBJ do?

Spin Spun, you almost done? (none / 0)

He lost the biggies ... CA, NJ, and MA.

Obama was suppose to lose those (none / 0)

Did Clinton win any states that she wasn't suppose to win?

Suppose to win? (none / 0)

Who had the mega cash?  Who had the mega endorsements?   Who had the glowing media coverage?

Clinton over came a lot to win where she did yesterday.

So your argument (none / 0)

is that he won't win them in the GE?

Please... all 3 states come back to Obama in the GE.

Re: So your argument (none / 0)

He loses MA to McCain according to SUSA.

Re: So your argument (none / 0)

So now you're using hypothetical horserace polls from the first week of February to predict a GE outcome?

I will bet you every dime, every last dollar I have and ever make -- and give you 1000000 to 1 odds -- Obama beats McCain in MA if that's the GE matchup.

Gimme a break.

Missouri has more Hispanics then California?  Care to rethink that statement?

Thinks for reasserting that actually it was about 50/50 last.

What? (none / 0)

Obama did better than the SUSA polls.  I remember specifically here at Mydd that Obama was only suppose to win 3 states and he ends up winning 13 and possibly 14.

And you call that underperforming?

Re: Obama Won States He Was Supposed To Lose Last (2.00 / 0)

The expectations game is no longer relevant at this point.  Winning North Dakota does not become more important than losing California by double digits just because he was "expected" to lose California.  Results are what matter.

When Obama lost Nevada by 6% it was even posted on his website as a win because he won one more delegate.  Now that he's won Missouri by a sliver, it's a win because of the popular vote, without anyone even knowing the delegate allocation.  Enough of the games.

Now that HRC has big momentum (none / 0)

I expect her to win Washington, Nebraska on Saturday, as well as the states next Tuesday.

I expect big wins for Hillary this coming week.
